For me, food has always been a powerful way to connect people, cultures and stories. My passion for Indonesian cuisine has shaped much of my journey, and I have always believed that food can transcend borders. Through my work, I hope to share the richness of Indonesia’s culinary heritage with audiences across the region and beyond.
After discovering my passion for cooking, I pursued opportunities that allowed me to refine my craft while embracing new culinary influences. My journey has taken me from professional kitchens to television screens, where I have become a familiar face on Asian Food Network as the host of Urban Chef Indonesia, Urban Cook and Home Cooked: Indonesia. Through these platforms, I have had the opportunity to introduce Indonesian flavours and traditions to wider audiences, while encouraging people to discover the stories behind the country’s diverse culinary heritage.
My commitment to culinary excellence and innovation was further recognised when I emerged as the winner of The Maverick Academy, a regional competition that brought together chefs from across Southeast Asia. The experience challenged me to bring together culinary skill with entrepreneurial thinking, while strengthening my belief in the potential of Southeast Asian cuisine on the global stage.
My time pursuing a Bachelor of International Hospitality Management at Taylor’s University gave me a strong foundation in hospitality, while developing the global perspective and leadership mindset that have continued to shape my career. It reinforced my belief that great hospitality goes beyond service. It is about creating memorable experiences that bring people together.
As part of the Taylor’s Education Group alumni community, I hope my journey encourages others to pursue their passions with curiosity, resilience and purpose. I believe our experiences, cultures and stories are what make us unique, and that when we share them with the world, they have the power to inspire others and create meaningful impact.
